This is amazing and makes me feel good. Is that sad? I actually would rather be better at packing really lightly than packing a ton into a small space, but I am definitely going to take some pointers from this guy.

Today I turned 24. Sort of a boring age, but not a boring birthday. It was an awesome day with lots of love from family and friends, and a day off to relax! (Much better than last year when my beloved Mac was put to sleep.) Thanks everyone!

I haven’t posted in forever. I’m sorry. Life is a little hectic right now. I got a job (yay!), part time (boo), but it least it’s something. We have had some visitors and we moved. I have lots of life updates and random pictures to post but in the meantime here is a pic of Jake and I and a bunch of our friends here in Austin (and Elisa from home!) on a party bus/float trip. Can you believe that a year ago I almost thought about moving back? Not only do we have friends- we have genuine friends. People I really like. A lot. But it goes without saying that I still really miss everyone in London, Pittsburgh, Maryland and DC! Come visit us in the new casa.

So I forgot to post pics from my long weekend trip to St. Petersburg with a bunch of extended family that happened 2 weeks ago. Today I went and looked on my camera for the pics… I have 0. Instead all you get are these two blurry shots from my iPhone. But how cute is my cousin’s baby? I could just eat those chubby cheeks. Looks like I got my wish of Miike Snow playing ACL so I wouldnt feel bad about only getting to see LCD Soundsystem in June. Bonus- LCD are playing at ACL too! But to be honest I’m probably most excited about The Eagles headlining. Does that make me a 50 year old white dude? Oh well. I grew up listening to them and my dad has always played their music on his guitar. I think I knew every word to Hotel California when I was like 7. So there are a bunch of acts I have never heard of, but there are a bunch that I’m genuinely excited about. And that’s sort of the point of ACL anyway, right? To find new music that you normally wouldn’t listen to. I’m pumped despite seeing a lot of people upset about the lineup. Can’t wait for October!

Yesterday we went to the Lone Star Jam concert in Waterloo Park and had an awesome time. There were about 7 different country bands and Eli Young Band closed out the night with an amazing performance. Even though I did get a little sunburned, the weather was perfect. It was a great day/night and I think we’ll definitely go again next year.
