Stranger in a Strange Land
I’m back from a quick trip to Naples and Key West for Julie’s 25th birthday celebration! It was so much fun and a very much needed girls trip. I’ll post more pictures of that soon. Last night my parents and Connor arrived in Austin and Addison gets in tonight for MY FIRST THANKSGIVING! Ok, not my first Thanksgiving, but the first time I’ve hosted a Thanksgiving. I feel like such a grown-up. Never-mind that I had to buy many a dish for this little get together.. seeing as I had zero platters or serving bowls that would accommodate food for 6. I can’t even think about how my mother and aunts have hosted Thanksgiving for over 20 before- crazy. So I only bought the turkey last night and apparently these turkey things have to thaw and two days may or may not be enough time. Sooo, we might not be having turkey this year. Also, I decided regular mashed potatoes AND sweet potatoes would be too much work. So we’re having sweet potato fries instead. New traditions people, that’s what it’s all about. So we’re off to give the grand tour of Austin and spend too much time together.
Wish me luck and Happy Thanksgiving to all!
